In Tuesday's league outing, the host Valparaiso Vikings soccer squad scored a tight 8-1 victory over the Portage Indians.
The Vikings (1-1) will now prepare for their outing against Penn (Mishawaka, IN). The Kingsmen come into the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Penn edged New Prairie (New Carlisle, IN), 5-0, in a league test.
The Indians now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Andrean for a non-league test on Thursday, August 21. Portage will clash with a Fighting 59ers team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Highland (Highland, IN). The Fighting 59ers record now stands at 0-1.
