The Miller County Pirates overwhelmed the host Pelham Hornets softball squad by a count of 12-5 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Pirates meet the Calhoun County Cougars (Edison, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 1 challenge, on Thursday, August 21. Miller County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record.

The Hornets (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Brookwood (Thomasville, GA). The Warriors go into the non-league challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Brookwood held off Atkinson County (Pearson, GA), 10-5, in a non-league challenge.
