In their next game, the Gryphons encounter the Southwest Patriots (Macon, GA) in a 1A Area 2 battle, on Tuesday, August 19. Academy for Classical Education will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Patriots go into the battle with a 0-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Westside (Macon, GA).

The Chargers now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rutland for a non-league contest on Thursday, August 21. Central will battle a Hurricanes team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Valwood (Valdosta, GA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 3-9.
