In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Cherokee Braves volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the North Buncombe Black Hawks.
The Braves (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Mustangs come into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record.
Next, the Black Hawks clash with the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a non-league battle, on Monday, August 22. North Buncombe will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record.
