The Greenbrier East Spartans smashed the host Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers soccer squad by a margin of 5-0 in Saturday's non-league match.

The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Oak Hill for a non-league match on Wednesday, August 24.

With the loss, Buckhannon-Upshur drops to 0-2 on the season. The Buccaneers host Lewis County (Weston, WV) to encounter the Minutemen in a Big Ten match on Tuesday, August 23.
