Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 1-0 in a league test.

The Marauders now hold a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Delta for a Hoosier Heritage test on Tuesday, August 23. Mt. Vernon will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Blackford (Hartford City, IN). The Eagles record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, New Castle drops to 1-2 on the season. The Trojans travel to Jay County (Portland, IN) to meet the Patriots in a non-league test on Tuesday, August 23. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 0-1. Jay County lost 4-1 in their recent non-league test against Muncie Central (Muncie, IN)
