The Monroe Hornets topped the visiting Fairmont Firebirds volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Hornets now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Franklin for a Southwestern Buckeye - East test on Tuesday, August 23.

The Firebirds (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Northmont (Clayton, OH). The Thunderbolts enter the Greater Western Ohio test with a 0-0 record.
