In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Watauga Pioneers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Southwestern Randolph Cougars.

The Pioneers (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Red Tornadoes come into the non-league challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Hickory lost by North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars (1-1) will now prepare for their game against North Stanly (New London, NC). The Comets go into the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, North Stanly went down by Carson (China Grove, NC), 2-0, in a non-league game.
