The Pierce County Bears softball squad (Blackshear, GA), was routed 8-4 in Wednesday's non-league match with the host South Effingham Mustangs (Guyton, GA)

The Mustangs (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Bradwell Institute (Hinesville, GA). The Tigers go into the 5A Region 1 match with a 0-7 record. In their last match, Bradwell Institute was routed by Liberty County (Hinesville, GA), 12-2, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Bears battle the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA) in a non-league match, on Monday, August 25. Pierce County will attempt to better on its 6-2 season record.
