In Thursday's non-league contest, the Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV) soccer team edged the host Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV), by a count of 3-2.
Next, the Big Reds battle the Huntington Highlanders (Huntington, WV) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, August 26. Parkersburg will attempt to upgrade on its 1-0 season record. The Highlanders enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Blazer (Ashland, KY).
The Cougars (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Parkersburg South (Parkersburg, WV). The Patriots enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Parkersburg South held off University (Morgantown, WV), 4-1, in a non-league contest.
