The Poteau Pirates softball team scored 10 runs and held the host Keys Cougars to 7 in the Pirates non-league win on Thursday.

The Pirates now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charles Page for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 21. Poteau will confront a Sandites team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Sapulpa (Sapulpa, OK). The Sandites record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Keys moves to 4-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to Inola (Inola, OK) to confront the Longhorns in a non-league battle on Friday, August 22. The Longhorns come into the battle with a record of 3-4. Inola lost 3-2 in their recent non-league battle against Sequoyah (Tahlequah, OK)
