In Thursday's league match, the Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears (Kinross, MI) volleyball squad tipped the host Beaver Island Islanders (Beaver Island, MI), by a count of 2-1.
In their next game, the Black Bears encounter the Mackinac Island Lakers (Mackinac Island, MI) in a Northern Lights battle, on Monday, August 25. Maplewood Baptist Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record.
The Islanders now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Burt Township for a non-league battle on Wednesday, October 1.
