Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Canyon Eagles (Canyon, TX) and the visiting Fossil Ridge Panthers (Keller, TX), observed Canyon's volleyball team top Fossil Ridge by a count of 2-0.

The Eagles (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX). The Hawks go into the non-league battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Birdville achieved victory over Martin (Arlington, TX), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Panthers now own a 6-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wylie for a non-league battle on Friday, August 22. Fossil Ridge will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Brennan (San Antonio, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-3.
