Indiana High School Soccer - Greenfield-Central held off by Mt. Vernon

The Mt. Vernon Marauders held off the host Greenfield-Central Cougars soccer squad by a margin of 2-1 in Monday's league match.

The Marauders now sport a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Homestead for a non-league match on Saturday, August 27. Mt. Vernon will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Evansville Memorial (Evansville, IN). The Spartans record now stands at 2-2.

The Cougars (1-2) will now prepare for their game against Yorktown (Yorktown, IN). The Tigers go into the Hoosier Heritage game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Yorktown nipped Anderson (Anderson, IN), 10-0, in a non-league game.
