In Thursday's non-league game, the Gordo Green Wave (Gordo, AL) football team triumphed over the visiting Fayette County Tigers (Fayette, AL), by a tally of 62-12.

In their next game, the Green Wave battle the Bibb County Choctaws (Centreville, AL) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 30. Gordo will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Choctaws enter the game with a 1-0 record after their 29-21 non-league win over Chilton County (Clanton, AL).
