Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY), 8-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Belfry upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Pirates host Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) to battle the Panthers in a District 57 contest on Monday, August 26. The Panthers enter the contest with a record of 3-1.

The Wildcats (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Martin County (Inez, KY). The Cardinals enter the District 57 contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Martin County was overwhelmed by Prestonsburg (Prestonsburg, KY), 5-1, in a league contest.
