St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they observed their soccer squad nudge the visiting Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC), 1-0 in a non-league outing.

The Indians (1-2) will now prepare for their outing against Asheville (Asheville, NC). The Cougars go into the non-league outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Asheville was edged by Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, GA), 4-3, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Blue Devils confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a non-league outing, on Monday, August 26. Maiden will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Spartans go into the outing with a 3-2 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC).
