The Lowndes Vikings softball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Bacon County Raiders to 1 in the Vikings non-league win on Thursday.

The Vikings now possess a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tift County for a 6A Region 1 battle on Tuesday, August 27. Lowndes will confront a Blue Devils team coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Cook (Adel, GA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Bacon County moves to 3-1 on the season. The Raiders host Brantley County (Nahunta, GA) to confront the Herons in a 1A D-I Region 1 battle on Tuesday, August 27. The Herons come into the battle with a record of 5-3. Brantley County won 11-7 in their recent league battle against Jeff Davis (Hazlehurst, GA)
