In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Deer Creek Warriors football squad scored a good 34-22 victory over the Calhoun Academy Cougars.
The Warriors (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Kemper Academy (DeKalb, MS). The Rams enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Kemper Academy was topped by Porter's Chapel Academy (Vicksburg, MS), 42-14, in a non-league battle.
The Cougars now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to DeSoto for a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. Calhoun Academy will play a Thunderbirds team coming off a 24-0 non-league win over Hillcrest Christian (Jackson, MS). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 1-0.
