The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes walloped the host Cedar Shoals Jaguars football team by a score of 42-3 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Purple Hurricanes meet the Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA) in a non-league test, on Friday, September 5. Monroe Area will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record.

With the defeat, Cedar Shoals drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Stephens County (Toccoa, GA) to meet the Indians in a non-league test on Friday, August 29. The Indians come into the test with a record of 1-1. Stephens County won 21-17 in their recent non-league test against Elbert County (Elberton, GA)
