DeSoto Thunderbirds (West Helena, AR) fans exited the stadium in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team overcome the host Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS), 24-0 in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds play the Calhoun Academy Cougars (Calhoun City, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 29. DeSoto will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Cougars go into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 34-22 non-league loss to Deer Creek (Arcola, MS).

The Cougars (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Ben's Ford Christian (Bogalusa, LA). The Eagles come into the non-league test with a 1-0 record.
