The South Point Red Raiders edged the visiting Hickory Red Tornadoes football team by a score of 27-25 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Red Raiders clash with the T.C. Roberson Rams (Asheville, NC) in a non-league outing, on Friday, September 5. South Point will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.

With the defeat, Hickory drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Red tornadoes host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league outing on Friday, August 29. The Cougars come into the outing with a record of 0-1. Alexander Central lost 42-21 in their recent non-league game against Newton-Conover (Newton, NC)
