The Hopkinsville Tigers football squad scored 49 points and limited the visiting Stratford Spartans to 13 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Madisonville-North Hopkins for a non-league test on Friday, August 29. Hopkinsville will meet a Maroons squad coming off a 49-13 non-league win over Union County (Morganfield, KY). The Maroons record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Stratford moves to 0-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Stewarts Creek (Smyrna, TN) to play the Red Hawks in a non-league challenge on Thursday, August 28. The Red Hawks go into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Stewarts Creek won 39-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Centennial (Franklin, TN)
