Howard Eagles (Wilson, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC), 21-8 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Howard improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Eagles host Trinity Christian (Fayetteville, NC) to meet the Crusaders in a non-league test on Friday, August 29. The Crusaders come into the test with a record of 1-0. Trinity Christian won 20-13 in their recent non-league test against Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC)

The Chargers (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars go into the Roanoke River 1A/2A challenge with a 0-1 record.
