South Carolina High School Football - Strom Thurmond triumphant over McCormick

August 22, 2025: Johnston, SC 29832

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC) and the visiting McCormick Chiefs (McCormick, SC), witnessed Strom Thurmond's football squad wallop McCormick by a tally of 55-6.

The Rebels (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC). The Bulldogs come into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Silver Bluff routed South Aiken (Aiken, SC), 34-31, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Chiefs confront the Lincoln County Red Devils (Lincolnton, GA) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 29. McCormick will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Red Devils come into the match with a 1-0 record after their 38-6 non-league win over Jenkins County (Millen, GA).
