The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM) and the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), saw Piedra Vista's football team nip Sandia by a final score of 26-20.

With the win, Piedra Vista advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Panthers travel to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM) to encounter the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Friday, August 29. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Bloomfield won 63-12 in their recent non-league bout against Belen (Belen, NM)

The Matadors now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Cibola for a non-league bout on Thursday, August 28. Sandia will encounter a Cougars team coming off a 24-21 non-league loss to Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 0-1.
