Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Broughton Capitals (Raleigh, NC), saw South Mecklenburg's soccer squad hold off Broughton by a count of 2-1.
The Sabres (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against West Forsyth (Clemmons, NC). The Titans enter the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, West Forsyth tipped Leesville Road (Raleigh, NC), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
In their next game, the Capitals meet the Apex Cougars (Apex, NC) in a non-league match, on Monday, August 25. Broughton will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Cougars come into the match with a 2-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Hopewell (Huntersville, NC).
