In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Palacios Sharks volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Columbia Roughnecks.

The Sharks (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Louise (Louise, TX). The Hornets come into the non-league challenge with a 10-2 record. In their last challenge, Louise was nudged by Calhoun (Port Lavaca, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Roughnecks face the Little River Academy Bumblebees (Little River Academy, TX) in a non-league test, on Saturday, August 23. Columbia will attempt to advance on its 5-7 season record. The Bumblebees go into the test with a 1-8 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Chaparral (Killeen, TX).
