East Bernard Brahmas (East Bernard, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Yoakum Bulldogs (Yoakum, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Brahmas (7-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Sacred Heart (Hallettsville, TX). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 5-8 record. In their last challenge, Sacred Heart was nudged by Weimar (Weimar, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs face the Schulenburg Shorthorns (Schulenburg, TX) in a non-league game, on Saturday, August 23. Yoakum will attempt to advance on its 5-11 season record. The Shorthorns go into the game with a 9-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Sacred Heart (Hallettsville, TX).
