The East Central Hornets edged the visiting MacArthur Brahmas volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Hornets now possess a 10-4 record. They play next when they travel to Pioneer for a non-league outing on Friday, August 22. East Central will play a Diamondbacks team coming off a 3-2 league win over Vela (Edinburg, TX). The Diamondbacks record now stands at 5-1.

The Brahmas (7-6) will now prepare for their game against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX). The Bobcats go into the non-league game with a 7-4 record. In their last game, Edinburg nudged Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX), 3-0, in a non-league game.
