Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Timpview Thunderbirds (Provo, UT) and the host Escondido Cougars (Escondido, CA), observed Timpview's volleyball team top Escondido by a count of 2-0.

The Thunderbirds (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Sanger (Sanger, CA). The Apaches enter the non-league contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Sanger notched a victory over Clovis East (Clovis, CA), 3-2, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Spring Creek Spartans (Spring Creek, NV) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, August 23. Escondido will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Spartans go into the battle with a 0-4 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Pacheco (Los Banos, CA).
