The Harlingen Cardinals topped the host Rio Grande City Rattlers volleyball squad by a final score of 2-0 in Friday's non-league game.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (Mission, TX) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, August 23. Harlingen will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record. The Patriots come into the outing with a 9-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX).

With the loss, Rio Grande City drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Rattlers travel to Cigarroa (Laredo, TX) to play the Toros in a 5A Region IV District 30 game on Tuesday, August 26. The Toros enter the game with a record of 4-3. Cigarroa lost 2-1 in their recent non-league game against Sharyland (Mission, TX)
