Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Smyrna Bulldogs (Smyrna, TN) and the host Lawson Lightning (Nashville, TN), observed Smyrna's volleyball team top Lawson by a tally of 2-0.

The Bulldogs (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Jackson County (Gainesboro, TN). The Blue Devils enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Jackson County beat Red Boiling Springs (Red Boiling Springs, TN), 3-0, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Lightning face the McGavock Raiders (Nashville, TN) in a AAA District 11 test, on Thursday, August 28. Lawson will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
