Paetow Panthers (Katy, TX) boosters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host New Caney Eagles (New Caney, TX), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league challenge with a 10-3 record. In their last challenge, Barbers Hill beat Hargrave (Huffman, TX), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the Conroe Tigers (Conroe, TX) in a 6A Region II District 13 test, on Tuesday, August 26. New Caney will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 5-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Stafford (Stafford, TX).
