In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Runge Yellowjackets volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Pettus Eagles.
The Yellowjackets (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 2-6 record. In their last challenge, Nixon-Smiley was beaten by Jones (Beeville, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Eagles meet the Karnes City Badgers (Karnes City, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 22. Pettus will attempt to advance on its 1-8 season record. The Badgers go into the game with a 4-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Tuloso-Midway (Corpus Christi, TX).
