The Murphysboro Red Devils held off the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Red Devils now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Elverado for a non-league test on Thursday, August 25. Murphysboro will confront a Falcons team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Cobden (Cobden, IL). The Falcons record now stands at 0-2.

The Knights (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Alton (Alton, IL). The Redbirds enter the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Alton was nudged by Columbia (Columbia, IL), 2-0, in a non-league test.
