North Carolina High School Football - North Stanly over Anson

August 23, 2024: Wadesboro, NC 28170

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) and the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), witnessed North Stanly's football squad knock off Anson by a tally of 28-6.

The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, East Rowan was toppled by North Rowan (Spencer, NC), 46-6, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bearcats battle the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, August 30. Anson will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Spartans enter the contest with a 1-0 record after their 40-8 non-league win over Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC).
