In Friday's non-league match, the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes football squad scored a decisive 38-0 triumph over the Cedar Shoals Jaguars.

The Purple Hurricanes (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Apalachee (Winder, GA). The Wildcats come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record.

Coming up next, the Jaguars confront the Stephens County Indians (Toccoa, GA) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 30. Cedar Shoals will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
