The New Salem Holsteins football squad scored 40 points and limited the host Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils to 8 in the Holsteins non-league triumph on Friday.

The Holsteins now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richardton-Taylor/Hebron for a non-league test on Friday, August 30. New Salem will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 64-18 non-league loss to South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] (Wishek, ND). The Raiders record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Hettinger/Scranton drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Black devils host Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter (Napoleon, ND) to meet the Imperials in a non-league test on Friday, August 30. The Imperials come into the test with a record of 1-0. Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter won 42-14 in their recent non-league test against Beach (Beach, ND)
