The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets (Roanoke Rapids, NC) and the visiting Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC), witnessed Roanoke Rapids's football squad edge Northampton County by a tally of 14-8.

The Yellowjackets (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Weldon (Weldon, NC). The Chargers enter the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.

Coming up next, the Jaguars confront the Bunn Wildcats (Bunn, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 29. Northampton County will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Wildcats come into the outing with a 0-1 record after their 37-7 non-league loss to Whiteville (Whiteville, NC).
