Lathrop Malemutes (Fairbanks, AK) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Eagle River Wolves (Eagle River, AK), 30-12 in a league battle.

With the win, Lathrop improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Malemutes travel to South Anchorage (Anchorage, AK) to meet the Wolverines in a non-league match on Saturday, August 30. The Wolverines come into the match with a record of 1-1. South Anchorage won 13-7 in their recent league match against Bartlett (Anchorage, AK)

Coming up next, the Wolves meet the Barrow Whalers (Utqiagvik, AK) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 30. Eagle River will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Whalers go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 34-0 non-league loss to Homer (Homer, AK).
