In Saturday's non-league game, the Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) football team triumphed over the host Portales Rams (Portales, NM), by a tally of 41-6.

In their next game, the Rockets battle the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls (Carlsbad, NM) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 29. Goddard will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Cavemen/Cavegirls enter the game with a 0-1 record after their 48-24 non-league loss to Artesia (Artesia, NM).

The Rams (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Lovington (Lovington, NM). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Lovington was crushed by Hobbs (Hobbs, NM), 41-13, in a non-league bout.
