In Saturday's non-league test, the visiting Portage Central Mustangs soccer team scored a close 2-0 triumph over the Canton Cobras.

With the triumph, Portage Central moves its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Lakeview (Battle Creek, MI) to clash with the Spartans in a Southwestern Michigan - East test on Wednesday, August 27. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 5-1. Lakeview won 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MI)

The Cobras now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Plymouth for a Kensington Lakes - South test on Monday, August 25. Canton will clash with a Wildcats team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Grand Blanc (Grand Blanc, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-2.
