Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Deer Lakes Lancers (Russellton, PA) and the visiting Gateway Gators (Monroeville, PA), saw Deer Lakes's soccer squad triumph over Gateway by a count of 8-2.

With the triumph, Deer Lakes moves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Lancers host Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) to meet the Bulldogs in a WPIAL AA 2 match on Thursday, August 28. The Bulldogs come into the match with a record of 0-0.

The Gators now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Butler for a non-league match on Tuesday, August 26.
