The Winona Winhawks edged the host Mankato East Cougars soccer team by a tally of 3-2 in Saturday's non-league game.
Next, the Winhawks face the John Marshall Rockets (Rochester, MN) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, August 26. Winona will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Rockets enter the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Two Rivers (Mendota Heights, MN).
With the loss, Mankato East moves to 1-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Faribault (Faribault, MN) to encounter the Falcons in a Class A Section 2 challenge on Thursday, August 28. The Falcons go into the challenge with a record of 0-1.
