Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) boosters exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 7-2 in a league test.

With the triumph, Mt. Vernon moves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Marauders travel to Delta (Muncie, IN) to clash with the Eagles in a Hoosier Heritage test on Tuesday, August 26. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 2-0. Delta won 9-0 in their recent non-league outing against Blackford (Hartford City, IN)

Next up, the Trojans confront the Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) in a non-league outing, on Tuesday, August 26. New Castle will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Patriots go into the outing with a 1-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Peru (Peru, IN).
