In Saturday's non-league outing, the host NCSSM: Durham Unicorns soccer squad scored a tight 2-0 victory over the Spring Creek Gators.
The Unicorns (3-0) will now prepare for their outing against Neuse Charter (Smithfield, NC). The Cougars go into the Diamond Nine 1A/2A/3A outing with a 1-3 record. In their last test, Neuse Charter edged American Leadership Academy-Johnston (Clayton, NC), 2-0, in a non-league test.
The Gators now have a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Smithfield-Selma for a non-league test on Monday, August 25. Spring Creek will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 2-2.
