The Oconee County Warriors softball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Jasper County Hurricanes to 2 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Saturday.

Next, the Warriors play the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) in a 3A Region 8 challenge, on Monday, August 25. Oconee County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Purple Hurricanes enter the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 15-2 non-league win over Johns Creek (Johns Creek, GA).

The Hurricanes (4-3) will now prepare for their battle against First Presbyterian Day (Macon, GA). The Vikings come into the non-league battle with a 8-1 record. In their last battle, First Presbyterian Day nipped Central Fellowship Christian Academy (Macon, GA), 11-3, in a non-league battle.
