North Carolina High School Volleyball - Bishop McGuinness over Mount Airy

Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Bishop McGuinness Villains (Kernersville, NC) and the host Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), observed Bishop McGuinness's volleyball team top Mount Airy by a count of 3-1.

The Villains (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy (Winston-Salem, NC). The Phoenix enter the Greater Triad 1A/2A contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy was knocked off by Triad Math and Science Academy (Greensboro, NC), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Granite Bears now own a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elkin for a non-league battle on Monday, August 25. Mount Airy will encounter a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 0-2.
