In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Johnston City Indians volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Wayne City Indians.

The Indians (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Sesser-Valier (Sesser, IL). The Red Devils come into the Black Diamond West battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Sesser-Valier was edged by Carterville (Carterville, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Indians clash with the Hamilton County Foxes (McLeansboro, IL) in a non-league test, on Thursday, August 26. Wayne City will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Foxes enter the test with a 1-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Crab Orchard (Marion, IL).
